I did test Photo Toolkit quickly and it has very interresting features. Because of that it is a pitty that the EXIF (or meta data) is lost after fixing picture with Photo Toolkit. When that can be changed I will for sure start using Photo Toolkit.

I took some time to test some photo software to see how they handle exif data.
I tested a few freeware applications: photoscape, photofiltre and Paint .net.
When saving a modified picture in all of these applications, the exif data was clearly saved also.
I also tested mspaint, also has no problem saving the exif data.
I also tested the freeware version of a program that is very good at removing ISO noise from pictures. It is called "Noiseware Community Edition". When you start this program a nag is displayed everytime, informing that saving of exif data is only supported by the paid versions of that program.

So i tend to conclude that the fact that Photo Toolkit does not save Exif data is not a very common shortcoming among photo applications.

Also, exif data is starting to become more and more important because of these reasons:

- Global positioning information is now added to exif data.
- Certain photo software relies on exif information to function properly. An example would be a program called "Neat image" which can reduce ISO noice on a picture by quering exif data for the camera brand and model that created the picture.

Combining all these reasons with the fact that people are not aware or informed that exif data is lost when they save their precious photo's with the photo toolkit applications, makes it in my opinion a very interesting if not essential feature to be added to a next version of Photo Toolkit.

Yes, seems very reasonable.
Thank you for the big and detailed report. I’ve sent it to our department manager directly.

B.t.w. another excellent example of a program that depends on the exif information to correct a photo is called GML Image Undistorter.

I think Photo Toolkit is very very good BUT I just cannot use it until they fix the EXIF problem. The standalone version of Red Eye Remover Pro kept the EXIF no problem. This is a BIG problem! Please fix soon! Thanks

News are bad: we cannot fix it without full change of program's architecture. The only solve we see now is rewriting the program from the beginning. So we will do it as soon as possible.

thank you natali. I cannot use the programme until this is fixed. EXIF is VERY important. Flickr Smugmug PicasaWeb etc etc all read the EXIF data. No-one will use Photo! Editor if EXIF is destroyed.

For image processor the EXIF lost is crucial lack of functionality.
There are so cute features this promramme provides and I'm so sorry that I cannot use them due to this bug
