Hawks giving Frolik scoring opportunity
A goal during the first period of the Blackhawks' first game this season appeared to put Michael Frolik on the fast track to a big offensive season.
Since that Jan. 19 game against the Kings the team the Hawks will face Monday night at the United Center Frolik has failed to score another goal. After finding the back of the net with a wrist shot in the opener, it has been nothing but hitting posts, near-misses and chances denied by goaltenders' big saves.
"When you're not scoring, for sure it's in your head and it's a little bit frustrating," Frolik said after Sunday's practice at the United Center. "I had some chances, but they just didn't go in. You try to stay positive and the last couple of games our line has played kind of well."

A two-time 21-goal scorer with the Panthers before joining the Hawks, Frolik will get an opportunity to jump-start his offense as he is scheduled to skate on the top line against the defending Stanley Cup champions. Frolik would replace Marian Hossa, who is likely to miss his second consecutive game with an upper-body injury that a source said is to his shoulder.
"I think we're going to try that," Quenneville said. "Frolik has been playing well. It gives (him) an opportunity to play up a couple of spots. Let's see how he does."
Despite the scoring drought, Frolik has been a key cog on the Hawks' fourth line and has excelled killing penalties, helping them rank eighth in the league with an 83.3 percent success rate.
"His play overall has been very consistent," Quenneville said. "He doesn't have the production to reflect how well he's been playing. Hopefully,jordan retro 11, he can be comfortable and things can be reflected by how well he is playing."
Skating with fellow winger Brandon Saad alongside center Jonathan Toews almost certainly will give Frolik more scoring chances and a chance to reverse his fortunes.
"It could be a good opportunity for me," Frolik said. "It's a good thing,cheap jordan 6 outlet. I don't want anything to change, just play the same way I did and don't try to make any special plays and we'll see how it goes."
Sharp update: Quenneville said winger Patrick Sharp skated Sunday as he recovers from an upper-body injury that a source said is his shoulder.
"We're seeing progress," Quenneville said. "(His return) won't be too far away."
Following the injury suffered March 6 against the Avalanche, Quenneville said the veteran would be sidelined three to four weeks. When asked if that still was the timetable,authentic jordan shoes for sale, the coach said: "I would say we're in the wheelhouse."
