Hawks giving Frolik scoring opportunity A goal during the first period of the Blackhawks' first game this season appeared to put Michael Frolik on the fast track to a big offensive season. Frolik would replace Marian Hossa, who is likely to miss his second consecutive game with an upper-body injury that a source said is to his shoulder. "I think we're going to try that," Quenneville said. "Frolik has been playing well. It gives (him) an opportunity to play up a couple of spots. Let's see how he does." Despite the scoring drought, Frolik has been a key cog on the Hawks' fourth line and has excelled killing penalties, helping them rank eighth in the league with an 83.3 percent success rate. "His play overall has been very consistent," Quenneville said. "He doesn't have the production to reflect how well he's been playing. Skating with fellow winger Brandon Saad alongside center Jonathan Toews almost certainly will give Frolik more scoring chances and a chance to reverse his fortunes.
