Last December we included advice on tagging in the newsletter, but since it so important (and because we have a new feature!), we like to revisit the topic. Relevant tags help your article get found in searches, they help our Editorial team know where to publish your work, and they help readers understand your article subject at a glance.
Now, it easier than ever to add relevant tags to your articles. We added a new feature in the Online Editor that suggests tags for your article based off of your text. Getting tag suggestions is easy; when you finished writing your article, scroll down to the Tags field. Like always, you can enter your own tags or, you can click the new Suggestions button to witness tagging magic. The new button automatically scans your content for relevant keywords and suggests tags for you,

May I complain about something that has been bothering me for awhile? Editing, by the Triond staff I have noticed that certain words in my articles after having been submitted with the Editor feature,

Small things really, and not happening nearly as often as they were even six months ago, when this was an event that occurred multiple times with every article that I published. Or the use of BOLD text being changed to weight text, or commas/semi-commas being placed incorrectly that again, do not agree with my offline saved version from which I copied directly to the Editor. recently, an article of mine included the word which, according to Merriam-Webster dictionary, is spelled CORRECTLY. One word, no hyphenation. My published article had the word changed to This is not correct, nor is this the word that I used. I checked it against the saved version (from which I copy paste into the Editor of my article and sure enough, -it had been altered at the publishing level.
Is this some automatic feature of submitting via Editor or is there a human element involved here? While the best of intentions are probably at work here, changing word(s) or punctuation is not the best thing to be doing if this is in fact what is happening. I write for readers and use various spell-checkers and grammar analyzers that use the syntax for western grammar spelling, and while they can (and do!) still fail (in the case of MSWORD, often horribly so,) these are MY words. And yes, even if I use them incorrectly myself, these are the words that I chose. I am slightly offended to think that my choice or use of words *might be* subject to being altered by someone trying to help and that they make it worse, or incorrect as was the case here. I certainly see enough bad spelling and incorrect grammar in some content being published to make me think that it isn even being looked at sometimes. Then I see little suggestive changes like those described happening to my articles so, I find myself confused you offer and suggestion or advice?
Thestickman, I have experienced this also. More often than not I am embarrassed by typos I missed that are of my own making, but a few times I found my work altered and published incorrectly. Fortunately now Triond can be edited so much quicker. There is no more submitting a fix and waiting for days. I am really grateful for this improvement.
And now to the new and improved Triond submission page that would assist with tags. Thanks again. We can never accuse Triond of not being innovative,

I would like to say that I not pleased with my work being edited incorrectly either. If a mistake is spotted and corrected, I would be most grateful.
However, when my bold or italics print are converted to plain text, this really bugs me. I use UK spelling and grammar, and even though I no longer worry about my work being changed to the US spelling, I not satisfied with the other changes.
I spend a long time on my work, choosing my words and phrases carefully, I rather not be edited for italics (which are needed in some cases). I would much prefer to be edited for typos. Yet, triond has made it far too easy to publish incoherent, misspelled, garbled hogwash. Where are triond editors? Or, are there any?
Dear Triond, here an idea: force people to write better by denying publication of articles and poetry that are riddled with misused words and disorganized material. (Oh, wait a minute, then you would earn only a fraction of what you are now)
Happened again, -I had to re-submit twice to get the accepted the way I wrote it. It was being completely removed and as lead-in to the first paragraph, it made absolutely no sense the way it was being edited.
*Finally* though, the I wrote was accepted. -After two attempts were failed or rejected. You know, -if the I suggest is inappropriate or unacceptable, it would be fair to say so and/or send the article to but re-publishing *without* the changes I made edited-out should not be what takes place. Spelling correction, acceptable, but content deletion or revision? No. Hmm.
the punctuation and grammar in your articles are anything like your comments on this blog, believe me, the editors are doing you a favor. taken. And no, my spelling and grammar for online content strives for correctness. It is when content is altered without prior consent, sentences restructured, reordered or omitted entirely that is the problem. I have received mentions in private that some users images have been swapped for others at the editorial level as well as textual alterations. This is not right. Accept the article as-written, reject/return for revision them otherwise. Anything else is not right. You can do this by visiting the Social Media Accounts section of your Account page and updating the Twitter section.

I don?t know if finest practices have emerged round issues like that, however I positive that your job is clearly recognized as a fair game.
