I ended up just uninstalling the 3D album & screensaver. What a mess! At first, I was going to take the misguided advice from that dude on here, who has suggested to many people that they need to update DirectX. Welp, I can't update it, due to some Windows authentication problems... BUT, I checked, and my version is 9.0c... the so-called "latest build" is for Vista users ONLY (10.0). I'm on WinXP, and 9.0c is the latest for this flavor.

Anyhow, DirectX is NOT the problem, your software is.

Screensaver wouldn't start. Album gave me some kooky "EAccessViolation" error.

Our developers could investigate your problem if you send us 2 My Pictures 3D log files:
C:\Program Files\My Pictures 3D\My Pictures 3D Album\Bin\My Pictures 3D.log
and
C:\Program Files\My Pictures 3D\My Pictures 3D Album\Bin\My Pictures 3DIrr.log
