When I install Photo Toolkit, and use the setting "Toolbar in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer", I find that Office 2003 programmes all malfunction. They either hang or crash. As soon as I turn off that setting everything is OK.

This has happened on two different computers, both with XP, both with Office 2003, so it isn't the computers. It's either me or Photo Toolkit.

Photo Toolkit is SUCH a brilliant programme, so please, please help.

Yes, there is such a bug...
It has appeared in the latest version. And will be fixed soon.
