Review: 'Long Shot: The Kevin Laue Story'
MOVIE REVIEW
Lengthy SHOT: THE KEVIN LAUE STORY
Running time: 88 minutes. Not rated (language). At the Quad, Thirteenth Street near 6 Avenue.
Ever since he or she was a kid, lanky Los angeles redhead Kevin Laue loved basketball. The fact that he was born with out a left arm beneath the elbow and is left-handed, too only made it extra satisfying when he turned out to be quite good at it,Rolex replica.
Regarded with skepticism simply by coaches, teammates, opponents and also scouts alike, Laue rose from the high school ranks as being a notorious shot-blocker, and also made one crowd-pleasing basket after another. The local media got notice, and eventually actually then-President George W. Plant,Replica Watches.
Long Shot, a no-frills documentary from representative Franklin Martin (Walking on Dead Fish), follows Laues route to an East Coast army academy, where they hopes to attract a scholarship to be the actual first-ever one-armed NCAA Division I gamer,Replica Watches.
The mellow Laue,Replica Watches, clearly still mourning the particular death of his / her dad, makes a nice enough subject, when sometimes low-key to the point of dull. Watching other people watch him play, though, is definitely not.
